Hyundai Palisade and other Inmetro launches: Furthermore, the autonomy of the Porsche Macan, electric Mercedes G-Class and Volvo EC40 and EX40.
O Inmetro announced a new stage of Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV).
The institute is responsible for approving all cars sold in Brazil, including consumption, emissions and electric range.
On the other hand, the agency sometimes anticipates sector announcements.
It was the same on this occasion.
In the table published in Wednesday (17), at least six models were not yet available for purchase in the country.
Hyundai Palisade, Mercedes-Benz G580 EQ, Nissan Townstar, Porsche Macan of the new generation and Volvo EC40 and EX40 are among them.
Check out what the models are like and what each one consumes.
hyundai palisade
O Palisade, the biggest car in the history of Hyundai, was 4.98 meters long, 1.98 meters wide, 1.75 meters high and had a wheelbase of 2.90 meters.
It was launched in 2018. A new generation will be presented abroad just two years before its late arrival.
In any case, the SUV eight seats, which can accommodate up to three people in the third row, is available in Brazil in two versions: Signature and Ultimate.
However, this does not mean that both will be provided.
Furthermore, the Inmetro confirms that the Palisade it will have a 3.8 V6 gasoline engine.
This engine produces 295 horsepower and 36.1 kgfm of torque, and its automatic transmission has eight gears.
A Hyundai claims that the SUV has a top speed of 230 km/h and takes 8 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The model has an urban consumption of 7.3 km/l and 9.9 km/l on the highway, according to Inmetro approval.
Mercedes-Benz G580 EQ
In Brazil, the electric version of the famous Mercedes-Benz Class G was approved. After 40 years of using gasoline and diesel versions of the Jeep, a version with four electric motors was implemented.
These engines combined generate 587 hp and 118 kgfm of torque. This means that it has 2 hp more power and 33 kgfm more torque than the V8 currently being sold in Brazil.
Thus, the Class G It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.
Unlike any V8, the 116 kWh batteries still offer A-grade energy efficiency and a driving range of 369 km.
The good news is that Brazil will have to wait a while to receive the electric G-Class.
Although the Mercedes-Benz confirms the approval of the jeep, states that the launch will not take place until 2024.
Nissan Townstar
The most consulted model on the list is an electric van from Nissan.
However, there are reasons to believe the launch could happen. The main one is that the Renault Kangoo E-Tech lightweight, which is already available in Brazil, is actually the Japanese version.
The only thing that distinguishes the vans is the emblem.
They make up most of the body parts, a 120 hp and 25 kgfm electric motor and 45 kWh batteries.
Furthermore, its autonomy in Inmetro is 210 km, identical to the version Renault .
A Nissan retorted, stating that “it does not comment on plans and that it is common for the company to register all its products to guarantee and protect its property”, in response to the accusation.
Porsche Macan
A porsche just confirmed that four different versions of Macan will be launched in Brazil in the last quarter of 2024. Two of them have already been approved here and registered by Inmetro.
Each of them has a 100 kWh battery.
Autonomy changes with power.
For example, the Macan 4 has all-wheel drive and two electric motors with 408 hp and 66.3 kgfm of torque, which can travel 443 km on a full charge. The Turbo, which has 638 hp and an impressive 115.2 kgfm, runs 435 km.
The new Macan It has been available for purchase in Brazil since March, with prices starting at R$ 580 thousand.
Volvo EC40 and EX40
Finally, we have the new Volvo EC40 and EX40, which are new names for the already known C40 and XC40. However, in addition to the change in nomenclature, there is news about the duration of electric SUVs.
The rear-wheel drive and rear-engine versions have 238 horsepower and a 69 kWh battery.
In this case, the C40 was 385 km away, but its energy efficiency fell from 0.49 MJ/km to 0.51 MJ/km.
The XC40's range fell by 3 km, from 367 km to 364 km.
The differences are most noticeable in the all-wheel drive versions, with two engines and 408 km. The 78 kWh battery in the XC40 and C40 now delivers 393 km and 404 km respectively, instead of 348 km.
Furthermore, Volvo registered the versions Performance Black of the two SUVs, according to the Inmetro.
This contrasts with the manufacturer's previous statement, which had scrapped the settings for Brazil about a month ago.
